Love to Life Week 4

Pastor Jonathan Criswell

Philippians 2:1-4
Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

Philippians 2:5-11
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;  he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.  When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Our Mission:
WE LOVE PEOPLE TO LIFE BY CULTIVATING MOMENTS THAT BUILD REAL RELATIONSHIPS, REAL FAITH, AND A PURPOSE FILLED LIFE IN CHRIST.

IF YOU ARE ALIVE, GOD HAS A PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Romans 11:29
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].

SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE REMINDED THAT THE BIBLE IS FULL OF IMPERFECT PEOPLE WHO CHANGED THE WORLD.

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

TRUE VISION DOESNT SEE ONLY WHAT IS.  TRUE VISION CAN SEE WHAT WILL BE BEFORE IT EVER HAPPENS.

WHEN ONE PERSON’S LIFE HAS CHANGED, THEIR WORLD HAS CHANGED.  CHANGING ONE LIFE, CHANGES THE WORLD.

Luke 10:25-28
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

Luke 10:29-30
But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

WE LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE MOST OF THE PEOPLE AROUND US ARE BEATEN UP AND HALF DEAD.

Luke 10:31-32
A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

WE CAN GET SO COMFORTABLE WITH OUR RELIGIOUS ROUTINE THAT WE SIDE STEP THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.

Luke 10:33-37
But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

I THINK THE CHRISTIAN CONSUMER CULTURE WE LIVE IN HAS A MIS-UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT SPIRITUAL MATURITY IS.

SPIRITUAL MATURITY IS BEING SO FULL OF GOD, SO CONSUMED WITH YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS THAT IT BEGINS TO AFFECT THE LIVES OF OTHERS AROUND YOU

AT LIFE CHURCH WE ARE A “MOVEMENT OVER A MEETING.”

WE GET FILLED UP TO BE POURED OUT.  THAT IS OUR PURPOSE.

LIFE CHURCH VALUES TRUST OVER CLARITY

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

WE NEED TO OPERATE IN FAITH.  WITHOUT FAITH, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD!

LIFE CHURCH MUST OPERATE WITH COURAGE OVER FEAR

AS WE LIVE A PURPOSE FILLED LIFE, WE MUST VALUE DEPTH OVER HYPE

WE MUST BELIEVE AND HAVE A “RESOURCES OVER LACK” MINDSET

Psalm 37:25-26
I have yet to see the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.

IN ORDER TO LIVE A PURPOSE FILLED LIFE WE MUST VALUE HEALTH OVER BURNOUT
