Our Story

Life Church was originally named McDonough First Assembly and established in the Spring of 1952.  Land was purchased Fall of 1952 South of Hwy 42. The church relocated to our current campus North of Hwy 42 in 1968 and the small white chapel was built. In 1988, the main sanctuary was built. In the past 70 years, there have been 16 lead pastors with very little progress.  However, God empowered a handful of incredible lay people to believe for better days.  Those days are now!  Fall of 2019 Pastor  Jonathan Criswell revitalized the mission and vision of this church and spiritual transformation began to happening! We changed the name to Life Church in 2021; partnered with Heritage Montessori School on our campus; created an athletic association for kids to play sports; purchased 2 properties next to our property to, one day, build a Family Life Center…and so many really incredible people call Life Church their home!

Our heartbeat is loving people well and that takes sharing life together and being intentional throughout the week of connecting.  Our Life Groups on Wed. nights are a great way to really get to know each other. Events and connecting on our app and bible devos are great ways too!
We deeply desire to know each other and keep our connections, while reaching out to new friends, as we grow and expand.
